Keine Angst. Sagte die Angst

Musical theater
UFO, Junge Oper Urban - Frankenplatz Düsseldorf

16:00

When night falls, fear is there. Ahri immediately thinks of an infinite number of things that scare her: Big monsters. Little spiders. Fights in the playground. News of war and violence... Life gets harder and harder, and the fear gets greater and greater. She won't let her out of her sight. It can't stay like this, Ahri thinks. We've got to get to the bottom of this! She takes her courage in both hands and addresses her fear. And looks her in the eye. Could it be that fear itself is frightening? That maybe it doesn't want to be so big, but just wants to be held? In the play created by Mirjam Schmuck and Anna Korsun, the little girl and her fear go through life together with ever-greater confidence, learning to get along with each other and making many unexpected discoveries in the process.

Nieder•Erdenmarsch Varèse•Ionisation

Percussion orchestra
Teatro Dal Verme, Milano

20:00

Erdenmarsch, the march of the earth: what does it mean?
Is it the earth that marches? Is humanity itself on the march? In Mahler's work, it's the earth that begins to sing the song of earthly existence. Here, we are not singing, but marching, all together, towards... The four "columns" of three performers march to the rhythm of the peremptory, inexorable chimes of an enormous drum placed in the center. An arithmetical order is followed without escape, but there is a way out for these "soldier-percussionists": anarchic chaos!

States of matter

Interdisciplinary concert
Kulturbunker Cologne-Mülheim

States of matter takes the aggregated states of water as a starting point and source of inspiration for a contemporary musical program that integrates seamlessly with performance and multimedia. Artists Francesco Marzano and Juliette Serrié have examined ephemerality, fluidity, liminality and hybridity in their musical performances, tracing the multiple properties of this solid, liquid or gaseous element. They play with the tension between artistic contemplation on the beauty of water and the real threats it represents, for example in the context of climate change, and which affect us as a collective destiny.

Daughters of the future

World premiere
Forum Freies Theater - Düsseldorf

The waltraud900 artists' collective (Bianca Künzel, Phaedra Pisimisi, Ria Papadopoulou, Dorle Trachternach) is working with young performers on a transcription of the tragedy "Iphigénie à Aulis", in which King Agamemnon sacrifices his daughter Iphigénie to bring thousands of ships and warriors to Troy.

She doesn't resist, but rejoices in her own death. Is she a heroine? What sacrifices are the daughters of the future willing to make, and what sacrifices will they no longer be willing to make? The character of Iphigénie becomes the representative of a young generation looking fearlessly to the future.
